Laura C. Cannon

Laura C. Cannon practices commercial litigation, with a current focus on insurance coverage and bad faith litigation.

About

Her experience includes representing insurers in first-party coverage and statutory bad faith disputes, in state and federal court. Laura also has substantial experience representing national broker-dealers in securities arbitration in disputes stemming from the Puerto Rico debt crisis, as well as in representing financial lenders in consumer financial services litigation.

Laura is an active member of the community in New Orleans. She serves as a board member of the Younger Lawyer’s Division of the Federal Bar Association. She is also a member of the Tulane Law Review Alumnae Association, the Association of Women Attorneys, the Louisiana Bar Association, and the New Orleans Bar Association. Laura is committed to pro bono work and volunteers with the Pro Bono Project and the H.E.L.P. Program, as well as with various legal fairs.

Laura received her Juris Doctor magna cum laude from Tulane University Law School. While at Tulane Law, she served as the Senior Managing Editor of the Tulane Law Review and President of Law Women. Laura was also one of only ten recipients nationally of the Burton Award for Distinguished Legal Writing in 2016. She received her Bachelor of Arts cum laude from Tulane University.
