About
Dawn has extensive experience in the Louisiana court system representing clients in multiple practice areas throughout her career. Since Hurricanes Laura, Delta, and Ida, she has handled hundreds of property damage claims, including participating in numerous mediations throughout the state. Dawn has practiced in the areas of admiralty and maritime, Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation, criminal defense, and family law. Her current practice is focused on general insurance defense of motor vehicle accidents, toxic torts, property damage, Louisiana state workers’ compensation claims, and subrogation claims.

Obtained a favorable decision from the 4th Circuit Court of Appeal, State of Louisiana, affirming the decision of the Civil District Court for the Parish of Orleans granting summary judgment in favor of client dismissing plaintiff’s claim based on the application of a bar date precluding future claims being brought against the client.

Obtained a favorable decision from the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals affirming a decision of the United States Eastern District of Louisiana granting Motion for Summary Judgment dismissing plaintiff’s claims for unseaworthiness of an inland workover barge under the General Maritime Law and for negligence on behalf of the employer. (Deren Smith v Basic Marine Services, Inc., 964 F. Supp. 2d 597 (EDLA 8/7/13).
