Jennifer s. Martinez

Jennifer Martinez has provided a wide range of representation throughout her years of practice.

ABOUT
Jennifer began her career representing the State of Louisiana in civil claims under the Federal False Claims Act and prosecuting healthcare providers for Medicaid fraud and abuse to the elderly and infirm.  Since entering private practice, she has represented insurers, private companies and individuals in many different areas of law including construction, contract, bad faith, fraud, labor and employment, premises liability, and unfair trade practice disputes.  Jennifer has State and Federal trial experience, as well as experience in administrative proceedings.
 

PRACTICE AREAS


Notable Representation

  • Successfully co-counseled a joint venture and its employees to settlement in a Louisiana unfair trade practices case arising out of the unlawful removal of a subcontractor on an Army Corps of Engineers levee project.

  • Obtained a substantial settlement for a subcontractor on a bond claim arising from the general   contractor’s refusal to remit any payment for a completed project, claiming that the subcontractor           was solely responsible for all liquidated damages.
