In the third round of a hotly contested uninsured motorist insurance claim, the Louisiana Supreme Court denied plaintiffs’ writ application, ensuring the firm’s defense verdict will stand. At trial, the firm obtained a zero verdict for its client. The trial court, finding the defense verdict “inconsistent,” granted plaintiffs a new trial. The firm appealed the ruling to the First Circuit, securing a reversal of the trial court’s ruling and reinstatement of the zero verdict. With the denial of plaintiffs’ writ application to the Louisiana Supreme Court, the zero verdict rejecting all claims against the firm’s client is now final.
The Trial and Appellate team included Stephen Miles, Cassie Giarrusso, and Theresa Phillips.
